CHAMP sincerely appreciates the kind support of our partners and sponsors. Your continuing support of our mission helps CHAMP serve our community! To discuss Partnership and Sponsorship opportunities, please call the CHAMP office. Thank you!
Florissant Animal Hospital - James Kuhn, D.V.M.
Dr. Kuhn, CHAMP’s program veterinarian, provides excellent care for our assistance dogs-in-training and also sets health-related protocol for all of the program dogs. Dr. Kuhn and Florissant Animal Hospital have been dear friends and supporters since our founding, in 1998.
He and the other veterinarians and staff help ensure that each dog we place is healthy and physically able to perform the skills required for their future jobs. CHAMP loves Florissant Animal Hospital! Outstanding veterinarians and staff - simply wonderful!
Animal Eye Associates - Ben Johnson, D.V.M., Diplomate A.C.V.O.
Dr Johnson has provided excellent eye care for animals in the St. Louis community from his practice, Animal Eye Associates, in Kirkwood, MO. Throughout his career, Dr. Johnson has donated his services and expertise to many organizations, including Wild Bird Sanctuary, Wildlife Rescue, The St. Louis Zoo, veterinarians, rescue groups, and CHAMP Assistance Dogs, to name just a few.
Dr. Johnson screens each of our assistance dogs-in-training. CHAMP is very grateful to Dr. Johnson for his continued support of our mission.
Central West End Veterinary Clinic - Pamela Clary, D.V.M.
Dr. Clary is a long-time friend of CHAMP. Her mobile veterinary services have helped several clients provide great in-home care for their service dogs, and she also sponsors the care of some of our service dogs-in-training at her new clinic Central West End Veterinary Clinic. We are VERY thankful for Dr. Clary's kind support!
Missouri Department of Corrections
Since 2002, CHAMP and the MO DOC have partnered on an exceptional program at the women’s prison in Vandalia, MO. In the CHAMP Prison Program, a select group of female offenders help CHAMP raise and train our very highly skilled assistance dogs. Our trainers also work with rescue dogs from the Humane Society of Missouri. It’s a true win-win-win program… good for CHAMP, good for the offenders, great for the dogs!
Humane Society of Missouri
Since 2013, CHAMP and Humane Society of Missouri (HSMO) have partnered on CHAMP to the Rescue, our rescue dog training program at the prison where we train our service dogs. It’s a great program – we take screened rescue dogs from the shelter to the prison, and our trainers work with them for 10-12 weeks each. The dogs learn basic manners and get a nice start on basic commands like “sit”, “down”, “stay”, and walking on a leash. And then we find them great forever homes!
HSMO also kindly allows us to use their training facility for our therapy dog and other classes. Our offender-trainers love working with the rescue dogs. And we love partnering with HSMO!
The Child Center
The Child Center, a child advocacy center in Wentzville, MO, responds to child abuse through a supportive team approach to reduce the trauma to children and their families. The center is a Full Member and Accredited through the National Children’s Alliance, and serves a fourteen-county area in northeastern Missouri.
In September of 2015, CHAMP placed a facility dog named Reka at the Child Center. Reka, a specially trained chocolate lab, provides comfort to children who may be victims of abuse or witnessed a crime and are required to go through a forensic interview. Reka has been so effective at The Child Center that a second facility dog was requested to help ease Reka’s workload. Oakley, a handsome black labrador retriever, joined The Child Center team in November of 2017.
Criminal Justice Ministry
CHAMP Assistance Dogs and Criminal Justice Ministry (CJM) have developed a partnership to leverage the resources and common goals of both organizations in order to maximize opportunities for furthering their individual missions. The joint effort will combine CHAMP’s mission of improving and enhancing life skills and promoting companionship through the placement of specially selected service dogs with qualified individuals with CJM’s mission of improving the safety and well being of individuals, their families, and their communities affected by crime and the criminal justice system. The partnership will provide opportunities for both organizations to benefit in countless ways.
CHAMP is deeply indebted to the breeders who have provided super puppies from quality, health-screened parents at either no-cost, or at greatly reduced cost. The incredibly kind generosity of these individuals helps CHAMP continue to provide our service dogs and facility dogs at no cost to their future partners. They have OUR heartfelt thanks!
